⭐ Today’s Topic // Calorie Quality & Health

Make no bones about it, when it comes to fat loss, mastering calorie QUANTITY – i.e. managing our calorie budget – is our TOP priority ?

⭐  HOWEVER  ⭐

Would we expect 2,000 calories worth of fresh fish ? & seasonal vegetables ? to have the SAME effect on our body as 2,000 calories of biscuits ? & fizzy drinks??

Hmm… probably not, right!?

Whilst the QUANTITY of calories might the same, there’s clearly a BIG difference in the QUALITY – since fresh fish  & seasonal vegetables have WAY more health benefits than biscuits & fizzy drinks ?

This raises an important point! ⬇️

⭐ CALORIES ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL ⭐
 WHY? BECAUSE SOME ARE MORE HEALTH-PROMOTING THAN OTHERS 

I often refer to “health promoting” foods as “high-quality or healthy” foods (think fruit ?, vegetables ?, healthy fats ? & wholegrain carbs ?)

Or, in other words, minimally processed foods – those foods CLOSEST to how mother nature made them ?


But what exactly do I mean by “health-promoting”? ?

For me, health extends FAR beyond merely the physical. It’s the state of complete physicalmental & spiritual wellbeing – sometimes referred to as holistic health ⬇️

According to the holistic model, by choosing high-quality foods, we not only nourish our physical health – by helping our body to function as it was designed to function …

… but, SIMULTANEOUSLY, we nourish our mental & spiritual health

How so? ? Because, fundamentally, everything is interconnected! ?

The upshot: by looking after our body, we might also benefit in other ways ⬇️

IMPROVED SLEEP
3️⃣ 
IMPROVED MEMORY
4️⃣ 
IMPROVED LIBIDO
5️⃣ 
IMPROVED ENERGY LEVELS
6️⃣ 
IMPROVED MOOD
7️⃣ 
IMPROVED IMMUNE SYSTEM
8️⃣ 
IMPROVED STRESS LEVELS
9️⃣ 
IMPROVED ALL-ROUND HAPPINESS! ?

⭐ THE HEADLINE ⭐
If we care about the above ⬆️, it’s essential we consider the QUALITY of
our calories  – and not focus solely on the QUANTITY
