I gained 30kg of Fat During Lockdown 😩

Eeek! This photo was my rock bottom

It was the end of the 1st lockdown

I’d barely moved for months – I was actually writing a book (as you do 😆)

I hadn’t reduced my calorie intake to match my reduced expenditure

I knew I needed to, but I was anxious! My brain told me “less food = skinny”. So I carried on eating as normal.

I was also comfort eating daily:

🤦🏻 Anxious about my business going under

🤦🏻‍♂️ Worried about supporting my family

🤦🏻 Depressed that I couldn’t train

🤦🏻 Chronic pain from a slipped disk in my back

Eating felt like one of the few pleasures I had left

I ballooned up to 145kg (I’m currently 112kg)

But here’s the funny thing …

When I took this photo …

Although I didn’t like what I saw (at all), I knew things would be ok

I knew it was temporary

I knew this wasn’t how the story was going to end

Because I didn’t identify with that guy in the mirror

“This isn’t who I am” – I told myself. And I meant it.

I didn’t know how, but I knew I’d turn things around

When lockdown passed, I took action

I hired coaches & mentors. I invested in myself.

I put myself “in the right room with the right people”

Today I’m stronger & wiser

I’ll never go back to where I was in this photo.

“New Luke” knows what “Old Luke” did not 😂

But all this didn’t happen overnight. It’s been a journey.

I’ve learned a few things:

💚 Great things take time

💚 Trust the process, be patient & see the big picture

💚 Small daily changes repeated over time are life changing

💚 The journey of self-improvement never ends – it’s a way of life

If you don’t recognise yourself when you look in the mirror

If you’re ready to start your journey, but you don’t know where to start

If you want to “put yourself in the right room”, and learn how to sustainably move forwards

I can help 💚
