Hello there, my name is Ben 👋 A little bit about me …

From 0-18 years old, I travelled internationally with my family of 1 sibling, Mum, and Dad. In 2017 after I had finished high school in Ethiopia I moved to the UK, where I studied at the University of Reading. Both of my parents are British, and I do consider myself British, although I certainly didn’t feel like I fit in with my peers initially! 😁

I am very skinny by nature, and I was a late bloomer growing up. This meant that I didn’t have the body of most people my age. I felt physically small and weak. This – in combination with a bit of an identity crisis from moving to the UK – meant I was ready to make a change.

It was in my first year of uni that I started training. As many will relate, it was initially to run away from my insecurities. Going to the gym helped me find myself among this sea of uncertainty. Developing a strong and aesthetic physique quickly became a big interest of mine.

In my first 6 months of training I worked my full body 7 days a week. The frequent training was mostly to build the habit rather than for any benefits to my growth in the gym.

As time went on, I discovered the importance of training hard and training smart, which added a lot of direction and purpose to my workouts. My interest in a science based-approach to training has been inspired by some of the best in the industry. I place a lot of value on training quality.

I started coaching in the autumn of 2020, and have been continually developing my professional skills since. I am truly passionate about what I do, and I’m invested in my personal growth & self development to enhance my clients’ experience and empower them to achieve the results they want.

Here are a few progress photos from my own health & fitness journey ⬇️

Our mission is to create a growth- & results-driven coaching environment primed to deliver sustainable fat loss & lifestyle change to holistically-minded individuals seeking positive change. Having spent many years designing our best lives, we’ve become passionate about helping our clients do the same. Here are my reflections on the importance of holistic health

1️⃣ MIND 🧠

My first year of uni was very difficult. It was the most depressed I’ve ever been. It caught me completely off guard. Out of this hole, committing to a consistent muscle-building routine was key to my recovery. It was the metaphorical “lifebuoy” I needed at the time. I know exactly how impactful exercise & physical health can be on improving your headspace and ensuring you’re on the right path to a happy life.

2️⃣ BODY 💪

I have had my ups & downs when it comes to body image. I’ve been at both ends of the spectrum. The “I’m too fat” in my younger years, and the “I’m too skinny” in my later years. Throughout high school I was ashamed to go topless at the beach, get changed in front of the other boys or go swimming in a pool without wearing a long sleeved UV top. This was the fuel that kick-started my muscle-building journey. I wanted to be proud in my physical appearance, and I can truly say I’m now confident in the way I look. Building muscle has improved my body image in unimaginable ways. I simply wouldn’t be the person I am today without it. Plain and simple.

3️⃣ SELF 🕉️

The marriage of meditation and bodybuilding (an unlikely combo, I know!) for me was completely game changing. Coming out of my depressive episode I was ready to change – ready to try new things. A lot of that included getting out of my head and into my body. I feel like, in today’s society, the present moment is rarely appreciated. We’re always thinking about our next holiday, our next night out, or the new Iphone that we’re going to buy. Meditation and bodybuilding provide me with a “flow state” that I otherwise find hard to attain in my day-to-day. This headspace shift to focus on the micro, not the macro was massive for me, and unlocked a way of thinking I didn’t think was possible. Training in the gym not only upgraded my physique, it also gave me an opportunity to switch off & practice some self care.

What Our Clients Say…

I was looking for a personal trainer who would help me find balance in terms of exercise and nutrition, Luke definitely delivers great coaching in both of these areas. Luke helped me feel very comfortable doing weightlifting training. Even thought the first few weeks of learning the exercises took a while, it certainly paid off. Each training session with Luke is effortless and fun, he also offers great advice on nutrition and creating habits. I’d recommend…
